Pics of putting the Odyssey transmission back together.  Thanks go to Kurt for lending me his copy of Clymer Odyssey repair manual.  It had MUCH more details on assembly than the Honda service manual.

My workbench is has been turned into a storage facility.  Went with the old standby...  The Workmate.

I spent several hours cleaning and polishing the bearing surfaces.  The shafts should be a slip fit into the bearings.  The process of sanding was:

There are five (5) bearings in the transmissions.  Took awhile to finish.

I spend the most time on the axle drive sprocket.  The bearing/seal surface was pretty rough on both sides.  The top in the pic above cleaned up very well.  The bottom still has some irregularities but should be fine.

The circular area is the surface the big round thrust washer rides on.  Some idiot put the thrust washer in backwards and this region is scored.  I have no way to clean it up so I left it alone.

The new seals.  I could have purchased seals locally but took a chance and went with Honda seals.  The Honda axle seals are worth every penny I paid for them.  The actual seal is under the metal guard.

I drilled and tapped one half of the case for a drain plug.  1/8 NPT.  Drilled the hole as close to the bottom as possible.

The drain plug installed
